Hello everyone, I am Yxtqwf (you may also know me as Grudge or Stairs), and I'm nominating myself for content moderator.
- Why I want to be a content moderator
In April of 2017, I came upon an interesting thread discussing theories regarding animus magic. I excitedly offered my opinion and joined the discussion. In the next few weeks, I participated more and more: joining fun games, making good friends, and arguing about Darkstalker in the comments of articles. In all of that, I was blown away by how awesome this wiki was—everyone was warm, and welcoming, and eager to discuss or just chat! I came for the animus theories but found much more.
There's also the articles. I had been reading Wings of Fire for two years before I joined the wiki, and occasionally, because I was confused or for whatever reason, I would have to search up something about the series, and I would always find what I was looking for on the wiki.
That is why I want to be a content moderator; I believe this wiki is an amazing place and I want to help improve it—and for the only complete wiki there is regarding Wings of Fire, our wiki articles are definitely in need of improvement. (Many are missing information, contain errors, have inconsistencies, lack necessary references......) I am already helping out with articles, but with moderator tools, I could contribute more efficiently.
- Why I should be a content moderator
I believe that I am very qualified to be a content moderator. I've used Fandom for a long time, and I know how to use its tools well. I'm familiar with Wikitext and HTML and I'm good with templates. If edits matter at all, I have 1,800 mainspace edits and 15,000 total edits on Wings of Fire Wiki. Globally, I have 12,000 mainspace edits and 37,000 total edits. (This is taking data from both this account and my old account.) As a user who has been active here since 2017 (with a few hiatuses), I know many people here well.
I am active in improving our articles. I frequently check recent changes, mark unnecessary pages for deletion, revert bad edits. I try to be as helpful as I can by leaving edit summaries and informing new users so that they understand how they should be editing. From time to time, I do complete cleanups of articles, adding and removing information and rewriting sections for the better.
As a content moderator, I would be able to rollback vandalism more easily. I would be able to clean up files and delete unnecessary pages. If there are any spam or offensive article comments, I could swiftly delete them before any trouble arises. I am also looking forward to having more influence regarding the structure of articles/this wiki as a moderator.
This wiki is an amazing place and I want to help improve it, and the best way I could do that would be as content moderator. I am an experienced editor here, with over 1,800 mainspace edits, and I frequently edit and improve our articles.
- Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my nomination, regardless of whether you decide to support me or not!
