Bloodworm Hive was one of the nine Hives of Pantala, located on the shore of Dragonfly Bay and connected between Mantis Hive and Jewel Hive. It was also the closest Hive to Lake Scorpion. It was recently burned in a LeafWing attack and is currently unknown how many dragons were killed in the burning. The Hive was formerly ruled by Lady Bloodworm.
Description[]
Bryony described it as impossibly tall, imposing and indestructible-looking with a "big smug aura that would be enough reason to set fire to it." Bryony also thought it was less pretty compared to Jewel Hive.[1]
Notable features[]
Bloodworm Hive University[]
Bloodworm Hive University was the university within the Hive. HiveWings with special abilities were sent there to train to serve in the Queen Wasp's guard. It was rumored that these powers were tested on SilkWings in the Hive.[2]
Weaver Hall[]
Weaver Hall was a SilkWing school,[3] and was attended by Dusky prior to the events of The Flames of Hope.[3] The school included a playground, and the school's exterior wall displayed 'Weaver Hall', with a balcony open to the sky on one side. The playground also included a slide.[4]
History[]
The Lost Continent Prophecy[]
The Hive Queen[]
Cricket and her friends noticed a Hive burning in the distance. They realized that Bloodworm Hive was in trouble, with HiveWings flying out from other Hives in attempt to save it. Sundew revealed that she knew about the plan for awhile and was angry that it commenced without her report.
The Poison Jungle[]
In the prologue, Bryony, Hemlock, and Pokeweed were shown getting ready to burn down the Hive. Later, Sundew mentioned the Hive's burning to Willow, which caused her to panic and worry about Queen Wasp's forces arriving.
The Flames of Hope[]
SilkWings from Bloodworm Hive were among the many SilkWings hiding in the SilkWing refugee camp.

Trivia[]
- It was stated by Grayling that Bloodworm Hive was the cruelest Hive to SilkWings, explaining why Bloodworm Hive has the most Chrysalis members and why it was chosen to be attacked instead of another Hive.[1]
- Whitespeck said that Bloodworm Hive's rules are very strict, one rule saying that at least one member of each household must be employed on Lady Bloodworm's pet projects, even if the household consists of just one small orphan.[5]
