Thoughts? I personally am dreading it. I read for dragons, not humans.
EDIT(Months Later):
Okay, when I originally posted this discussion thread, I had just found out about the news, and therefore was reacting based on my initial myopic thoughts. Now since I had more time to cool down and really think, I would like to share my real opinion on this upcoming Legends book. Me saying that I was "dreading" this book is an awful and rather immature way of saying it. I am not dreading it. In fact, I am curious about this book. Saying that I am dreading the book is an overreaction and is a strong word to use. While I am not happy, I am not closed-minded and am still going to read the entire book. After all, I am bloody curious, if anything else. A scavenger POV can offer so much new insight when done correctly. Tui T. Sutherland is an amazing writer in so many aspects, I have no doubt that she will be able to pull this one off. Plus, it would not be the first time she has written from a human perspective in her previous works. If the characterization is as good as the traditional dragon perspective we are used to, then that wins half the battle in of itself for me. If she does it for the dragons, why not the scavengers? I think she will do fine. I hope this does not become a habit, however. I am positive it will not, considering she has stated several times that she writes this series from the dragon's perspective because she herself got sick and tired of seeing it from the humans POV. But, this does little to stifle my paranoia about it, because there is a chance that things could change. Legends: Darkstalker was such an emotional book, and it feels like that is how Legends books should be. Emotional. I am not sure how slaughtering Queen Oasis will pack much emotion, much less be enough content to fill an entire Legends book with. However, I will not be surprised if there were subplots that could potentially do this. After all, the characters need development, and this would be the best way to do so. All and all, I'd rather have my book fourteen, but whatever. Every author needs a break to do something different before they can go back doing the usual. I am wary of this new Legends book, but am deathly curious and will be reading the book with an open-minded and critical eye.
