"Me too! Me too! I want to go to school too!"
— Auklet to Coral about Jade Mountain Academy, Moon Rising

Auklet is a female SeaWing dragonet princess who was introduced in The Lost Heir. She is the youngest living daughter of Queen Coral and King Gill, and currently resides in the Deep Palace with her mother.

Description[]

Auklet has emerald-green scales,[3] dark green eyes,[4] and green wings.[5] Clay stated that she has a snout similar to Tsunami's.[6]

Personality[]

Auklet is playful[3][7] and especially loves to play with bubbles.[8]

Biography[]

The Dragonet Prophecy[]

The Lost Heir[]

When Auklet's egg was in danger of being destroyed by Orca's statue, Tsunami volunteered to protect it, risking her life for her little sister. She succeeded and was allowed to name the dragonet Auklet. While Tsunami was in Coral's prison with the other dragonets of destiny, Auklet was fitted for her harness, freeing Anemone from her own harness temporarily. Additionally, Whirlpool raised the possibility of marrying Auklet to become king due to fear of Anemone ending up like Albatross. She was taken to the Deep Palace when Burn's army attacked the Summer Palace.

The Brightest Night[]

In the epilogue, Tsunami suggested that Auklet and Anemone could attend Jade Mountain Academy, but worried that Coral would visit them every day to keep an eye on them.

The Jade Mountain Prophecy[]

Moon Rising[]

Auklet appeared briefly with Coral, Anemone, and Turtle waiting outside Jade Mountain Academy. She tugged at her harness and was delighted to see her sister, Tsunami. She said that she wanted to attend school with Anemone and Turtle, but her mother thought she was too young, and Tsunami suggested that maybe she could attend the next year.

Winter Turning[]

In the epilogue, Anemone mentioned Auklet in her thoughts when her mind revealed to Darkstalker that she had enchanted Auklet's harness, which would hopefully help to "keep Queen Coral away" from Anemone for now. If not, she would "come up with something stronger."

Talons of Power[]

When Turtle went to warn Coral about Anemone coming to kill her, he found Auklet with her. She was playing with bubbles in the garden, which was her favorite place in the Deep Palace. Auklet recognized her brother and started bouncing happily. Before Auklet and Coral were about to leave, Auklet hugged him.

Darkness of Dragons[]

Auklet was mentioned in Coral's letter to Turtle. The queen wrote, "Auklet and I send our love."

Field Guides[]

A Guide to the Dragon World[]

Auklet was mentioned in Coral’s letter to Starflight at the beginning of the SeaWing section. Later, she was mentioned again in Coral’s scroll about the War of SandWing Succession. Anemone mentioned her in her letter to Tamarin.

Relationships[]

Turtle[]

She seems to love her brother and got excited when she saw him. Auklet hugged Turtle just before she and Coral left the bubble jet garden, with Turtle making a promise to himself that he would protect Auklet.[9]

Tsunami[]

Auklet seems to care about her oldest sister, who took care of her egg shortly before she hatched. Auklet also wanted to go to Jade Mountain with Tsunami.[10]
