- "I'm helping you. If you don't know your face looks like it was smashed into a wall, you should."
- — Firestorm being quoted by Tailwind, A Guide to the Dragon World
Firestorm was an adult female SkyWing who was featured in A Guide to the Dragon World. She ruled as queen of the SkyWings before Scarlet killed her during a royal challenge. Before her death, she resided in the SkyWing palace.
Personality[]
Firestorm was harsh and cruel, especially toward her daughters. According to Tailwind she was "nasty on the inside" and believed all others to be the same. She was brutally honest with everyone. She enjoyed art and beauty.[1]
Biography[]
Pre-Series[]
Firestorm, while ruling as queen of the SkyWings, hosted parades, art shows, dance performances, and beauty contests in the arena. She would invite dragons from all across Pyrrhia for these events and would keep all of the winning sculptures and tapestries for herself. She would sometimes stroll through the wingery to snark at the least attractive dragonets. Firestorm exiled her youngest daughter to one of the northern outposts when the dragonet was only three years old because she did not live up to Firestorm's beauty standards.
Firestorm was eventually challenged and killed by Scarlet during Scarlet's wedding.
The Jade Mountain Prophecy[]
Escaping Peril[]
Firestorm was indirectly mentioned by Ruby when she told Tourmaline that Scarlet killed her mother. Later, Ruby mentioned that the elderly SkyWing Kidney Breath served as an advisor to her grandmother.
Field Guides[]
A Guide to the Dragon World[]
In the SkyWing chapter of the guide, Firestorm was mentioned to be one of the dragons Scarlet wanted dead and had killed prior to writing her list. She was later described by Tailwind in a story about Scarlet's youth.
Relationships[]
Scarlet[]
Firestorm was amused by Scarlet as a dragonet, laughing when she was loud and demanding. She allowed Scarlet to steal from dragons in the palace. The more vicious, cruel, and dramatic Scarlet was, the more Firestorm would laugh. Scarlet met her standards of beauty and was allowed to remain in the palace.[1]
Unnamed daughters[]
Firestorm was constantly comparing her daughters to one another, based on who was prettiest, cleverest, who played the meanest prank, and who said the most biting comment about another dragon (preferably to their face).
Firestorm exiled her youngest daughter to a northern outpost at the age of three because her looks were so offensive.[1]
