The SapWing village was the home of the SapWing faction of the LeafWing tribe.

Description[]

Its outer perimeter was marked by an absence of carnivorous and poisonous plants,[1] and within the village, tree houses were scattered high in trees.[2] At the center was a large tree house spiraling all the way around an enormous baobab, wound with dark-purple-and-white clematis vines around the columns and with bright red trumpet creepers dangling from the ceiling.

Notable features[]

Hazel's room[]

Hazel's room was described as bright and airy, and there were open balconies and windows that let breezes into the room. There was a hammock inside the room that Hazel slept in. An overhanging roof made from large round leaves sheltered the room from rain. Inside, there were three desks that took up half of the room's space. Sundew described the desks as messy, with a "kind of sap glue dripping over the sides of its pot," tree fiber threads that draped everywhere and bark for book covers that were dyed in different colors covering each table. There were bright red trumpet creeper flowers that poked through the roof, and small paper dragons and clouds on every stem.[3]

Queen's tree house[]

The top level of the queen's tree house had a smooth polished wood floor and a mahogany throne.[4]

History[]

The Lost Continent Prophecy[]

The Poison Jungle[]

When Sundew realized that Sequoia was eavesdropping on her conversation with Willow, she accused the queen of spying on them, to which Sequoia responded that Sundew should join her faction of the LeafWings. Sequoia led Sundew and Willow into the SapWing village, then brought them into her tree house for a discussion.

There, Sundew was introduced to Hazel, and Sequoia talked about the breath of evil sample given by Sundew before she told them to go away and stop bothering her. During her time there, Willow showed Sundew the 'strange dragons,' who were later revealed to be Io, Tsunami, and Turtle. Sundew and Willow then go to sleep in Hazel's room for the night.

Sequoia later recounted the Legend of the Hive, then sent Sundew, Willow, Cricket, Nettle, and Mandrake on a mission to go to the Eye of the jungle and find Hawthorn. The group later left the SapWing village to go to Hawthorn's home. After their encounter with Hawthorn, the group brought the "antidote" for the breath of evil back to the SapWing village. While they were at the village, they tested the cure on one of the HiveWings and the antidote had seemingly worked. The group left the SapWing village with the antidote and headed towards Sequoia's makeshift camp in order to build a bonfire to free the HiveWings.

After Sundew, Cricket, Mandrake and Willow discovered that the antidote was fake, they headed to the PoisonWing village to help the remaining LeafWings evacuate to the SapWing village. There they explained to Hazel that the antidote was fake and that the othermind could get anyone now. They also discovered a map left by Clearsight which they, along with the LeafWings and SilkWings, could use to travel to Pyrrhia.
