The Tree Wars were a series of battles between LeafWings and HiveWings that ultimately resulted in the near-extinction of LeafWings. The event took place fifty years before The Lost Continent Prophecy, and deforested most of Pantala.
Description[]
Fifty years ago, Queen Wasp claimed that Clearsight wanted her to rule all the tribes, which was simply a lie she had made up. Queen Monarch stepped down obediently and submitted the SilkWings under Wasp's rule, believing that the Book of Clearsight must be true. However, Queen Sequoia asked for evidence, to which Wasp denied to show, resulting in the start of the Tree Wars. Wasp eventually ordered the trees to be burnt and cut down, as she believed that LeafWings gained their power from them.[1] LeafWings were almost brought to extinction and any references to trees were banned in HiveWing society, supposedly out of Wasp's spite.
Timeline[]
- Wasp, believing that the LeafWings gain their power from the trees, slowly cut them all down to build her Hives.
- Wasp proposes that Sequoia and Monarch step down from the throne and let her rule the three tribes, supposedly according to the Book of Clearsight.
- Queen Monarch steps down, handing her crown to Wasp, who is now queen of both the HiveWings and the SilkWings.
- Queen Sequoia asked to read the Book of Clearsight herself to make sure Wasp's claims were true, but Wasp refused to let Sequoia read it. For this reason, Sequoia refuses to let Queen Wasp rule her tribe.
- A peace summit is held with the intention to infect Wasp with the breath of evil in an attempt to gain control over her mind. The plan backfired, giving Wasp the ability to mind-control her subjects instead.
- After many more summits and negotiations in an attempt for peace, the war begins.
- After an unspecified number of battles, Dragonfly is deemed a hero of the Tree Wars for the HiveWings. A part of Jewel Hive is subsequently named after her.
- The LeafWings lose the war, almost leading to their extinction as a whole, and the survivors are forced to seek refuge in the Poison Jungle. Within a short amount of time, the two groups, one wanting to restart the Tree Wars and the other wanting peace formed the PoisonWings and SapWings.
Trivia[]
- During Wasp's reign, SilkWings were taught to believe that the LeafWings threatened and attacked the rest of the tribes, and that they were aggressive and dangerous. They were told to report any and all LeafWing sightings to an authority figure immediately.[2]
- Tui may do a Winglet on the Tree Wars, although this is unconfirmed.[event 1]
